Not a bad weekend for sports huh?! We hold on for a tie against a very talented and well coached East Bay team on Saturday, and then witness the GREATEST COMEBACK IN SPORTS HISTORY ON SUNDAY!
I told Ant near the end of the 3rd quarter that as long as Brady and the boys NEVER give up, they won't have anything to be ashamed of. I did not expect what happened next...they came back to win a game that was already lost. It is a great lesson for our boys. Never give up and you always have a chance. G-O-A-T!
Christian and Ant worked the old corner kick "fake-a-rooski" play to perfection and gave Anthony a free shot at a dumbfounded goalie. Ant put some heat on it and before the defense and goalie could react it was in the back of the net.
Christian and Ant then teamed up for two more goals both on high bouncing balls that they were able to redirect past the goalkeeper. We were hoping to get a few good bounces on our run and shoot strategy and were able to get a couple. Tyler had his best game of the season and was working hard all game. I love seeing that kind of extra effort. Vincent and Tres also stood out and Dylan did a good job in goal.
Big game this week against the first place DR Strikers. We have been chasing the Strikers since September... If we can pull an upset, we will knock them out of first place and solidify our playoff chances. They beat us on opening day in the fall but in the end we were able to take the league title.
Lets bring our best game of the season!
